The boys sure had a great time at the beach. I think by far it was their favorite part of the trip. And when we'd finish at the beach, we would swim in the hotel pool in the evening! |

The touch tanks were nice. We were able to touch horseshoe crabs, clams, snails, sea urchins, starfish and even stingrays. At the Naval Museum, Steffanie and I got to pet sharks. The boys were under the height requirement. They didn't want small children leaning too far into the tank and falling in. I guess that would be bad. |

We visited the USS Wisconsin (BB-64). This Battleship is permanently moored in downtown Norfolk next to Nauticus. It's featured with the Naval Museum and you can take a self-guided tour. Naval personnel actually have duty aboard this ship as tour guides and assistants. |

We stopped at the Jamestown Settlement on our way to DC. There are 2 parts to Jamestown. Historic Jamestown is the actual location with the old buildings and fort. The settlement is a re-creation of the original village. One of the historians told us that the settlement changes as new finds are discovered in historic Jamestown to keep it historically accurate. |
