National Zoo

We had to hoof it a lot in DC. But the Metro (subway) was very convenient and transportation was cheap. We visited the National Zoo on our first day there.

On our second day, we visited the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument and went to the Museum of Natural History. I think the boys were impressed with Lincoln - but were equally thrilled feeding the ducks in the reflecting pool and petting the mounted policeman's horse.

The picture on the right is the Hope Diamond. This 45.52 carat diamond has quite a history.
Morgantown, WV

On our way back home from DC, we passed right through Morgantown, WV and met up with some friends we haven't seen in years. Lucas (pictured far right) is an old Navy buddy and great friend of mine.

Robert and Jesse's (Lucas' brother and sister-in-law) children are the same age as Liam and Colin. When the kids met, they connected like they had known each other forever! They all had a great time playing together at the restaurant and park. Valarie, thanks again for picking up the tab at Cheddar's!
